The first European course on Digital Wine Tasting will be presented in Offida from September 19th to 21st at the company showroom. This initiative is part of the D-Tasting project, in which Ciù Ciù is an associated partner. The event will be attended by thirty students and teachers from hotel schools, culinary schools, and tourism institutions, hailing from ten different European countries, among the most renowned in Europe.

Among these institutions are the Mediterranean Culinary Center in Valencia, one of the most important culinary schools in Southern Europe; the Biotechnical Educational Centre in Ljubljana, a center of excellence in university education for tourism; and Intercollege, a private academy in Cyprus that has been collaborating for years with the Wine and Spirit Education Trusts (WSET), the leading international organization for certifying wine professionals.

The objective of the course is to train certified professionals in digital wine tasting, capable of organizing wine tastings remotely using the web.

The project, which originated in the Marche region through the collaboration between Ciù Ciù and i-strategies, has been funded by the European Erasmus+ program and is generating significant interest due to its innovative approach.

“This project arose from the need to complement the traditional know-how of industry professionals with new web-related skills,” said Walter Bartolomei, co-owner of Ciù Ciù along with his brother Massimiliano. “Naturally, the experience of the local territory remains central to wine promotion, but training professionals capable of promoting it through digital means is essential today. In this sense, being the first European winery to certify the competence of Digital Wine Tasting for our employees is certainly a source of pride.”

The course, entirely online, will become part of the educational offerings of European schools and universities, and starting from January 2024, it will also be available online in five languages. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a European Digital Wine Taster certificate.

This represents an important international recognition for Ciù Ciù Tenimenti, setting the stage for other initiatives with strong innovative content.
