Podere Poggiomasso
A mountain-wine winery.
Story
Rocca Sinibalda (RI), Lazio
The Lazio winery Podere Poggiomasso, was established few years ago with the goal of producing mountain wines. The production site and the vineyards are located on the hills of Rocca Sinibalda. We currently produce three wines, a Lazio IGP Rosato, a Lazio IGP Sauvignon and a Lazio IGP Rosso.
Grapes
Podere Poggiomasso’s vineyards are located in Rocca Sinibalda, Turano valley, in eastern Sabine. Here a natural corridor runs from the south-east border of Rieti plains towards Carsoli, through the lake Turano and it’s surrounded by deep forest and small lawns here and there. That’s where we grow Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Cesanese along with Sauvignon, Pinot Bianco and Chardonnay.
In Rieti’s province, at the border between Sabine and Cicolano, it stands the Castle of Rocca Sinibalda over watching a village that bears its name. Behind our vineyards, eastbound Mt. Navegna and Mt. Cervia soar over the lake Del Salto.
Philosophy
Podere Poggiomasso was established few years ago with the goal of producing mountain wines under the so-called “heroic” viticulture and to rediscover the territory.
