Recipe “Neighborhood gnocchi”

“The neighborhood was the neighborhood”, it was proximity, exchange, friendship but also sharing of work and meals. As in this recipe for potato gnocchi to which we combine a Ciù Ciù “Bacchus” DOP red wine, by Ciù Ciù Tenimenti Bartolomei.


  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 500 gr flour 00
  • One pinch of salt
  • Two whole eggs
  • 50 gr grated parmesan cheese
  • One celery leaf
  • One carrot
  • ½ onion
  • One clove of garlic
  • 300 gr Piccadilly cherry tomatoes
  • 200 gr very ripe beefsteak tomato
  • One bunch of sage


Boil the peeled potatoes in plenty of water. Once cooked, let them cool and remove the skin. Mash the potatoes with a vegetable mill, then add salt, flour, eggs and Parmesan cheese and grind until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Prepare the classic gnocchi with the mixture obtained.

For the sauce:

Cut the herbs into small pieces and roast them in a pot with extra virgin olive oil. Add the diced tomatoes and cook them for twenty minutes over very low heat.
Cook the gnocchi in abundant salted water, and drain once they return to the surface. Sauté them in a pan with the tomato sauce and add the julienned sage once off the heat.
